Brandon Hunt
The dough whisperer. Brandon's obsession with Detroit-style crust led him to spend years perfecting the focaccia base that defines Via 313's signature square pizza.
We're a team of pizza obsessives who crossed state lines to bring the real taste of Detroit-style square pizza to Texas. Every pie is a love letter to where we came from.
Via 313 started as a food trailer parked in Austin, Texas — two brothers from Detroit with a cast-iron pan, a family recipe, and a stubborn belief that San Antonio deserved real Detroit-style pizza.
What makes Detroit-style different? It's the thick, airy focaccia-like dough. It's the Wisconsin brick cheese pressed all the way to the edges, creating those legendary caramelized crusts. It's the sauce ladled on top — not beneath. It's a pizza with character, history, and soul.
Today, we operate out of San Antonio's medical center district, feeding hungry regulars, curious newcomers, and devoted fans who drive across town just for a square slice.
We're here to do one thing really, really well — and to make your experience every bit as satisfying as the food itself.
To serve the most authentic Detroit-style pizza outside of Michigan — using traditional techniques, premium ingredients, and a whole lot of heart in every square we make.
To become San Antonio's definitive destination for square pizza — a place where regulars feel like family and first-timers instantly become regulars.
Every pizza that leaves our kitchen meets the same standard we'd serve to our own family — fresh, honest, consistent, and made with genuine pride and care.
From a humble food trailer to a beloved San Antonio institution — here's how we got here.
